Homemade Spaghetti Bolognese

Another hot day here in Surrey – I was a bit tired because of the heat, so needed something to do inside today. Rather than thinking about something complex (like cleaning the house for example…..), I decided to cook! Nothing much in the fridge, I’m afraid, so all I can think of was making homemade Bolognese sauce for a dinner. Actually I am quite happy with what I achieved here.

To begin with I chopped, chopped and chopped – carrots, purple onions, celery, mushrooms…. They were all chopped nicely as below.

Then I used this red wine from Waitrose (oh my old lovely Waitrose, I love them dearly) to cook the sauce.

When we sat down outside in the garden, sun was still hot. Our garden is flourishing nicely after the severe winter, so can’t complain. So all in all my weekend was good. Wish I can be a little more active – I have a tendency to just sit around, you know…. Oh well, probably next weekend we can go to a car boot sale or something. Hmmm.
